Before agreeing to a full research project let's talk to make sure you'll get what you want. You and I will go over your genealogical problem together. Then if you agree to exploratory research I will organize what you already know and determine if the problem can be resolved. You will receive my proposed research plan. Exploratory research will be limited to 4 hours.
Together you and I will agree on a question or project in an initial consultation. Exploratory research for this consultation will be limited to 4 hours. Ince we agree on a project and the number of researchI will lay out the answers to your question in an easy-to-read format that will hold up to the Genealogical Proof Standard as laid out by the Board for Certification of Genealogists. If applicable you will receive a simple pedigree chart or timeline to help you understand the project results.
After the initial consultation I will explain your DNA test results and investigate your biological family tree to the extent that ethical guidelines allow. Of special interest to some clients is the identification of birth parents. You will receive a research report that will explain all findings. If you desire to contact biological relatives afterward receiving the report I will advise you on how to proceed and may act as an intermediary if ethical guidelines allow.
